Another Calibration Method for Microcalorimeters
نویسندگان
چکیده
In the paper is proposed an original calibration method for microcalorimeter measurements on thermistor power sensors and certain preliminary experiments are illustrated, which are necessary for the effective application of the method. This new method avoids some critical steps in the usual microcalorimeter calibration, saves the time and does not require vectorial measurements for the feeding path sections.

Standards in Isothermal Microcalorimetry
The main calorimetric principles used in isothermal microcalorimetry are briefly discussed. Different chemical calibration and test reactions are discussed, with a focus on reactions suitable for ambient conditions: reactions initiated by mixing of liquids (including titration microcalorimetry), dissolution of solid compounds and of slightly soluble gases, a photochemical process, and thermal p...
متن کاملMicrocalorimeter and bolometer model
The standard nonequilibrium theory of noise in ideal bolometers and microcalorimeters fails to predict the performance of real devices due to additional effects that become important at low temperature. In this paper we extend the theory to include the most important of these effects and find that the performance of microcalorimeters operating at 60 mK can be quantitatively predicted. We give a...
متن کاملThe True-Twin microcalorimeter: a proof-of- concept experiment
We present a proof-of-concept experiment to realize microwave primary power standard with a true-twin microcalorimeter. Double feeding line microcalorimeters are widely used by National Metrology Institutes. A drawback concerns the system calibration: traditional processes changes measurement conditions between system characterization and the measurement stage. Nevertheless, if the feeding line...
متن کاملIsothermal microcalorimetry in applied biology
Techniques of isothermal microcalorimetry have been much improved during the past two decades. In addition to their use in fundamental research, applications of practical importance have been established in some areas. However, no significant use of isothermal microcalorimetry has yet been seen in practical applications of biology, despite many methodological studies reported from that area. Th...
متن کاملCharacterization of adiabatic lines for twin-microcalorimeters design
The paper presents the methods used for realizing and characterizing the insulating lines of twin broadband microcalorimeters. Both thermal and electrical measurements have been applied, together with electro-thermal modelling, to insulating coaxial line assemblies of different type from dc to 40 GHz.
